UFO Collage by Ken Netzel

Ken Netzel Art

My name is Ken Netzel. I am 52 and have been drawing since as far back as I can remember, taking all the art courses through middle school, high school and college. I am Buffalo/Cheektowaga born and raised. I am married to my beautiful wife Pam for 32 years with a 21 year old daughter, Katie, who is about to get married. Despite the praise I get for my art work, it is these two ladies I am most proud of.

Louise asked me to submit some of my UFO art for the Fanzine. I was honored to be asked. I am a huge sci fi fan with special interest to Star Trek, Irwin Allen properties and Gerry Anderson, not to mention Batman and Iron Man. Gerry Anderson things are fun to draw because they are such great designs. Yes, they were designed for “puppet shows.” But they looked like they could work for real. The interesting shapes and attachments make drawing them fun and interesting.

Back in 2004 I had a surgical procedure that went horribly wrong that nearly killed me. I spend eight months in the hospital, two in a coma, and it paralyzed my right arm and legs. I am a lot better now, can walk, and my arm works enough to work a mouse. My free hand days are over, at least for now, but thanks to the computer and Corel, I can still draw, and this is the stuff Louise expressed interest in.

So enjoy my work and feel free to contact me with any questions or requests at kennetzel@roadrunner.com. You can also see my other art at http://coreldraw.com/media/g/kennetzel/default.aspx.

Thanks for looking.   Ken Netzel

  1. Really excellent work Ken. I would love to see how you build these pictures up from scratch. Nice touches as well.. the little details such as the driver in the Shadomobile… I think SID has to be my favourite one. Such intricate detail! Looking forward to seeing more!

  2. Hello Ken, this is really great and I am so sorry to hear what happened with you. I wish you good and better health, and much strength and joy in life! Take care!
