‘Girlie’ Issue

Girlie Issue smallWelcome to this edition of the Ed Straker Herald, sub-titled the ‘girlie’ one by several journalists. I must assure serious readers that this issue does not contain the usual articles that one finds in the glossy ‘Celeb’ magazines that are so popular. I have striven to maintain our high standards and as a result I have removed several articles that seemed to be primarily concerned with either the most effective anti-aging moisturisers available on the market or else with the fashion disasters that have afflicted several lesser-known celebrities.

I have however, trusted Lt Ellis, together with her stalwart team of operatives, with the task of putting together some of the other regular features. The Moonabse ‘Star Signs’ can be found in ‘Lifestyle’ and in the absence of Dr Jackson, Miss Ealand and Lt Harrington have endeavoured to answer some of the personal problems that readers have sent to our chief Psychologist.

This issue has a story by Aquaboi, titled ‘Moon Waves’, as well as ‘Other Wars’ by dragon, one of our regular contributors. There are updates to the serials and the final chapters of Loopstagirls novel-length Thunderbirds story, ‘Shot in the Dark.’

Loopstagirl has also written a very perceptive article concerning the ‘background’ characters in Thunderbirds, which endeavours to explain the vital role that these lesser characters play in making it such a successful series.

LtCdr takes a long hard look (not that long really) at the Women of SHADO, and also provides an insight into the SHADO induction process, with a serious consideration of ‘Role Models’.

Gay Ellis joins us for this issue with her own thoughts, on her favourite things, and two more operatives feature in the short series ‘Home’.

We are pleased to welcome a new writer, possibly for this issue only. DkLdr gives us her point of view on the alien threat and the systems used to defend Earth in an alternate universe.

Colonel Lake continues her monologues, and there are more pages from Moreno Tambellini’s beautiful, hand-made comics. LtCdr’s latest drawing of Virginia Lake is published for the first time. and readers might like to know that this item is currently up for auction. The reserve is fifteen thousand euros, but LtCdr might be persuaded to swap it for a swatch of chest hair from Colonel Foster. Please contact her for details.

Our serials are all updated, with Straker and Dimitri still ldrifting in space in ‘Vodka’, and Ed Straker escaping from SHADO to seek refuge somewhere familiar in ‘The Shepherd’. In ‘Glitch in the Machine’, Straker comes to terms with the reality of life in Iceland, and meets Unnur face to face, with some interesting consequences.

Our ‘adult’ serials are also updated, but please remember that you have to subscribe to read those. Subscription is free, and simply asks that you confirm that you are an adult.
