Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells…

Jingle bells smallDear Herald Readers,

First of all, let me apologise for not bringing this issue to you earlier. You may have read about the recent discovery of an Earth-like planet that might possibly support life. Kepler-22b was initially discovered by our research team in 2009 and we have been working with the senior scientists in NASA to investigate the possibility that this planet, roughly two and a half times the size of Earth and with a possible temperature of 22 degrees Celcius, could be the long sought after ‘Homeworld’ of our enemy. We have designated the planet as NaNoWriMo2011.

This has necessitated intense work by all members of staff, and only now are we able to confirm that the planet is of no importance to SHADO and therefore we have permitted NASA to publish its findings. I would like to thank all those members of SHADO who have worked tirelessly to help our research teams.

We regret that the November issue of the Herald was delayed but we feel sure that our readers will understand the magnitude of the task that we faced. Now however, we are back with our latest issue in time for Christmas and the New Year.

This always seems to be a time for reminiscing and revisiting old haunts and sharing memories with friends. A time for getting out family albums and looking at old photographs. However, someone whose name will not be mentioned, has managed to find an old High School picture that I thought had been hidden away deep in the archives. Unfortunately I was too late to prevent the publication of the photograph. However, Mr Freeman will be spending the next few weeks assisting Dr Jackson with his research in McMurdo Sound.

This Christmas we have a managed to procure two rare and delicious presents for our readers. One is the premiere of Spyder’s utterly romantic SHAD0 Christmas story The Gift in a revised and rewritten version. The romantic slash fans out there, read and weep!

The other present is for all those who missed one of the raciest and hottest Straker/Foster slash stories ever: Black & White is back! It being Christmas we decided to publish both with an adult warning instead of a lock, please take heed of that! Lastly, you can expect the UFO Yuletide 2011 stories on Christmas day. Enjoy!

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

  1. Sweet? SWEET??? Such disrespect to your Commanding Officer is not a wise move, Lt. Toria. I suggest that you start packing your thermals for the extended tour of McMurdo Sound that you have been given as your next assignment.

  2. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our staff and readers a very Happy and Prosperous New Year and to remind you that normal staff rotas are in operation from midnight tonight. All staff will be expected to arrive fifteen minutes early for the mandatory health checks.
